Green New Deal Highlights

The Green New Deal is more a list of principles and goals than a specific proposal. In addition to actions to fight climate change and repair and upgrade our infrastructure, the Resolution also includes goals to address societal concerns such as social justice, income inequality, and preventing monopolies. Highlights include:

• Renewable energy
• Smart grid
• Energy efficiency
• Transportation
• Low-tech solutions
• Working with farmers and ranchers
• Guaranteed job, leave, vacation, and retirement
• Labor laws
• Public ownership
• Providing higher education
• Trade unions
• Trade deals
• Indigenous people
• Health care, housing, security, clean air and water, healthy food and nature
