101 Days and Counting

With Joe Biden's announcement in a letter last Sunday afternoon that he was ending his reelection campaign and his national address on July 24 in which he thanked the American people for the opportunity to serve them, our president has shown what real patriotism looks like. In putting the interests of the country ahead of his own and giving his support to Vice President Harris, he has lifted our hopes and given us new energy for the fight to preserve our democracy.

In the days since, Democrats have reported raising more then $250 million--much of it from new donors, and the Future Forward PAC announced $150 million in commitments in just 24 hours. Vote.org announced that nearly 40,000 people registered to vote within 48 hours. Delegates to the Democratic National Convention quickly rallied behind Kamala Harris, who has received the endorsement of more than the 1976 delegates needed to win the nomination in the first round of voting, putting her on course to take on Trump in the November election.

Support from every corner has followed, with Michelle and Barack Obama announcing their endorsement this morning. And, yesterday, Geoff Duncan, a Republican former lieutenant governor of Georgia, announced his endorsement.

It's game on. Dems (and cat ladies!) are in array and ready to take on Trump (who recently told supporters they "won't have to vote again"), Vance, and Project 2025.
