Democrats in South Hadley are invited to come together on Saturday, March 9, 2024 to elect 10 delegates and 4 alternates to represent our town at the 2024 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. The caucus, hosted by the South Hadley Democratic Town Committee, will be held in-person in the handicapped-accessible Community Room of the South Hadley Public Library at 2 Canal Street. Sign-in opens at 12pm and the caucus begins at 12:30pm.
Registered and pre-registered Democrats in South Hadley who are 16 years old by February 15, 2024 may vote and be elected as delegates or alternates during the caucus. All candidates must consent to nomination. MA voters may register to vote or check registration online at: www.RegisterToVoteMA.com.
Qualified Democrats who cannot attend the caucus in person may apply in advance to be nominated for delegate and alternate slots if there are not sufficient nominations among those present. Opportunities are also available for youth (age 16 to 35), people with disabilities, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community not elected as delegates or alternates to apply to the State Democratic Committee to be add-on delegates.
The 2024 Democratic State Convention is Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the DCU Center in Worcester. Delegates will gather in-person to voice support for the Democratic nominee for the US Senate and for Democrats across the Commonwealth and the nation. For details, see: massdems.org/massdems-convention.
