John F. Kennedy statue in Boston, MA | Library of Congress, Highsmith (Carol M.) Archive
As we prepared to publish this newsletter, which features a Thanksgiving proclamation issued by President John F. Kennedy shortly before he was killed sixty years ago, November brought news of a new loss. Former first lady Rosalynn Carter, a longtime mental health advocate and wife of now-99-year old former President Jimmy Carter, died this week at age 96. As we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, this November offers yet another reminder that our best leaders are those who are committed to service, for they leave a lasting legacy of hope.
