This month, Jim Bosman reflects on the long, hot "dog days of summer." Each year, it seems, our changing climate brings a longer, hotter, more miserable season chock full of deadly and unanticipated events. And that's just the weather. The politics are all that and more.
Voters
have been using their votes to make themselves heard, though, as
happened in a recent Ohio special election whose mid-summer timing set
by Republican lawmakers was intended to discourage participation. When
they speak with their votes, voters can be loud.
