Nomination Papers Available for Town Election

The annual South Hadley Town Election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Nomination papers to run for local offices are available from the Town Clerk's office beginning on Monday, January 9, 2023. If you've ever thought about running for office, there are a variety of opportunities available to serve our town and good people are always needed. Eight full 3-year term and several partial term Town Meeting Members will be elected in April. In addition, positions will be on the ballot for Selectboard, School Committee, Board of Assessors, Board of Health, Library Trustee, Municipal Light Board, and Planning Board.

Nomination papers with the required number of signatures must be returned to the Town Clerk's Office by 5pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Fifty signatures are needed for townwide offices, and ten are needed to run for Town Meeting Member (nomination papers to run for Town Meeting are required only for first-time candidates; those up for re-election need only return cards sent by the Town Clerk). Know Your Town is planning a Candidate Meet, Greet, and Sign event from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at South Hadley Public Library on Canal Street. Come enjoy some coffee and nibbles, meet prospective candidates, sign some nomination papers, and be part of the process of getting a slate of candidates on the ballot!
