A special caucus is being held by the South Hadley Democrats on Thursday, May 26, 2002 at 7:00pm via Zoom to elect candidates for the South Hadley Board of Registrars. All South Hadley registered Democrats interested in becoming a candidate are welcome to attend. No registration is required. There are currently three vacancies on the Board of Registrars, which provides advice, support and oversight for the Town Clerk, especially around ensuring fair elections. Board of Registrars vacancies are filled so that members represent as nearly as possible the two leading political parties. Per state law, the South Hadley Democratic Town Committee is charged with identifying three candidates registered as Democrats in South Hadley for the Selectboard to consider in appointing new registrars. Town meeting members are eligible for appointment as a registrar; other elected officials are not eligible for appointment.
