SHDTC Virtual Caucus on June 23 at 6:00pm

The South Hadley Democratic Town Committee will hold a virtual caucus on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 to select local Delegates and Alternates for the Democratic State Convention in September. The Zoom caucus will open at 6:00pm so participants can complete registration materials and the caucus agenda will begin at 6:30pm.

Democrats who wish to participate as candidates, voters, or guests, are asked to register in advance. Your early registration is appreciated and we hope you'll join us in this important process.

The caucus is open to all registered Democrats who are registered to vote in South Hadley as of the June 23 caucus date. Pre-registered young Democrats who reside in South Hadley and will be age 16 by June 15, 2021 can also participate in the caucus, and can run or vote for delegate positions. Candidates must be present at the caucus and must complete an online 'consent to nomination' form. Youth, minorities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals who are not elected as a Delegate or Alternate may apply to be an Add-on Delegate at the caucus or by August 6, 2021 at https://massdems.org/.

South Hadley can elect 9 Delegates and 4 Alternates to the state Convention in September.

This year’s Democratic State Platform Convention is scheduled for Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, where Democrats from across the state will come together for the purpose of adopting a Party platform. The last platform convention was in 2017 and we have faced many challenges and changes since then. The event will follow federal, state and local health guidelines and will also include a virtual option for participation.
