SOUTH HADLEY DTC TO HOST DR. DONALD BERWICK, CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR

The South Hadley Democratic Town Committee (SH DTC) will host candidate for Governor, Dr. Donald Berwick at its meeting Thursday, November 21, 7:00 p.m., in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the South Hadley Town Hall (116 Main St.).

Dr. Berwick is the former Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services,
United States Department of Health and Human Services, and former President and CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. His thoughtful and articulate speech at the Massachusetts Democratic Convention last July inspired the delegates in attendance.

The Committee welcomes all interested Democrats to hear Dr. Berwick’s vision for the future of Massachusetts, including the continued progress made by the federal government to support preventative health measures and how to work together on both state and local levels to promote a healthier nation.

The Committee normally meets on a monthly basis. Meeting dates, time and location are posted at the Town website.

SOUTH HADLEY DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS MARCH 2, 2013

Registered Democrats in South Hadley will hold a caucus at South Hadley Town Hall on Saturday, March 2, 2013, to elect ten delegates (five male; five female) and three alternates to the 2013 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Registration begins at 1:30 and closes at 2:00 p.m. at which time the caucus will begin.

The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in South Hadley, and the South Hadley Democratic Town Committee warmly welcomes participants. Candidates for delegate and alternate must consent to nomination in writing and must be present at the caucus. In the spirit of inclusion, youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates.

The Convention will be held on Saturday, July 13 in Lowell, Massachusetts. “At our 2013 convention, the delegates selected by South Hadley Democrats will debate and adopt our platform for the next four years, catch up and network with other organizers around the Commonwealth and hear from some exciting future leaders of our party,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh.

South Hadley Democratic Town Committee normally meets on a monthly basis, and meeting dates, time and location are posted at the Town website. For more information about the committee and its work, please contact SH DTC Chair Sarah Etelman (sarahSHDTC@gmail.com) or Vice-Chair Ann Eaton (ann.eaton1@gmail.com).

Food for Friends delivery on President Obama's National Day of Service

Members of the South Hadley DTC were proud to participate in President Obama's National Day of Service today by preparing and delivering meals to our friends and neighbors who receive Meals on Wheels. This is something we do one weekend every month, and we're pleased our January weekend coincided with this important event in American history!
