Thank you to everyone who participated in yesterday's South Hadley Democratic Caucus and congratulations to the ten Delegates and four Alternates who were elected to represent our town at the 2018 Democratic State Convention on Saturday June 2nd at the DCU Center in Worcester.
South Hadley Democrats will be represented by the following ten Delegates:
  • Vern Blodgett
  • Bill Foley
  • Lucia Foley
  • Allyson Garcia
  • Pat Greenfield
  • Barbara Magnuson
  • John Martins
  • Andrea Miles
  • Charles Miles
  • Robert Pleasure
And our four Alternates are:
  • Debbie Boehner
  • Sarah Etelman
  • Len Finkowski
  • Tom Lake
This year's State Convention will focus on nominating and endorsing candidates for state-wide office, including the U.S. Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Treasurer and Auditor. Yesterday's local demonstration of participation in the democratic process was an important step on the road to nominating candidates for these positions who can go on to win in the November general election and then lead the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Thank you, again, to all who attended the Caucus and to the many who helped with the set-up and running of the event.
Vern Blodgett

Join us at our annual caucus!

Registered Democrats in South Hadley are invited to our annual caucus at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, where we will elect nine delegates and four alternates to the 2018 Democratic State Convention.
The caucus is open to Democrats who are registered to vote in South Hadley as of the date of the caucus and the Democratic Town Committee (SH-DTC) warmly welcomes participants.  Delegates will be divided equally between men and women and, in the spirit of inclusion, youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates.  Candidates must be present at the caucus and must consent to nomination in writing.
The State Democratic Convention will be held on Saturday, June 2 at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA.  Delegates to the convention will vote to determine which statewide candidates will be on the Democratic ticket in the 2018 Primary Election in September.
The Feb. 10 caucus will be held in the Community Room at the South Hadley Public Library, 2 Canal Street, South Hadley, MA 01075.  The library is handicap accessible.  Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for caucus registration, which will end at 10:15 a.m.
