The national website is now live with a FAQ section. Massachusetts will soon follow. In the meantime, feel free to visit:

Volunteers
Organizers need lots of volunteers to make this event work. If you are interested in helping, they want you! They really need help in Hampden/Franklin counties right now but the more hands, the better. They are especially interested in contacts with local organizations to spread the word about the March and to encourage participation.

All buses will also need bus captains so organizers can stay in touch as we travel down to DC. If you are already a bus captain or if you are interested in being one for one of the departing buses, please reach out.

They will also plan pre-March meet ups so we can all get to know each other as well as to provide first-time Marchers with information about peaceful protest and what to expect.

Donate
If you can’t march but want to subsidize another marcher, that option will be available as soon as the MA website goes live.

A successful fundraiser!

Dear Members and Democratic Friends,

As many of you know, the South Hadley Democratic Town Committee has held a fundraiser every other year since 2012. And, this year was another one of our Miniature Golf and Ice Cream events to help support our organizing work to maximize our Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts in a Presidential year like no other. We are delighted to share the news that we have topped our record for attendance and number of sponsors this year, thanks in good measure to all of YOU. Total numbers are not final, as checks are still coming in, but there is clear support for Democratic values, policies, and areas of concern that our legislators are working on every day, both within the Commonwealth and nationally. This year seems more important than ever, so we are very grateful for your backing. For those of you who actually came and played golf, we were glad to see you and hope you enjoyed the day. For those of you who bought tickets or sponsorships and donated your tickets to clients of the South Hadley Food Pantry, we appreciate your generosity and taking care of others. We are grateful to be doing this work together, in community, with all our brothers and sisters who stand for inclusion, justice and respect for all.

We look forward to working with you once a Democratic nominee has been selected at the DNC in Philadephia in July. Be well and look for us in the SH Memorial Day Parade. We'll be waving and cheering to you and for you. :-)

Warmest regards,
Barbara Magnuson, Chair
On behalf of the Officers of the SH-DTC

SOUTH HADLEY DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS SET FOR MARCH 12, 2016

SOUTH HADLEY DEMOCRATS WILL HOLD CAUCUS TO SELECT CONVENTION  DELEGATES ON MARCH 12, 2016, 11:00 AM AT SOUTH HADLEY PUBLIC LIBRARY

Registered Democrats in South Hadley will hold a caucus at the South Hadley Public Library, which is fully handicap accessible, on Saturday, March 12, 2016, to elect ten delegates (five male; five female) and three alternates to the 2016 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Registration begins at 10:30 and closes at 11:00 am, at which time the caucus will begin.

The caucus is open to all Democrats who were registered in South Hadley as of January 31, 2016, and the South Hadley Democratic Town Committee warmly welcomes participants. Candidates for delegate and alternate must consent to nomination in writing and must be present at the caucus. In the spirit of inclusion, youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates.

This year’s State Democratic Convention will be held on June 4 at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell.

The South Hadley Democratic Town Committee meets on a regular basis, and meeting dates, time and location are posted at the Town website. For more information about the committee and its work, please contact SH DTC Chair Barbara Magnuson at southhadleydtc@gmail.com or Vice-Chair Leonard Finkowski at leonard60@gmail.com.
